I was really unsympathetic to the heroine of the piece, Cass.

Cass, first of all, you can waitress anywhere. Second of all, grow a backbone and pummel the douchebag who is your boyfriend in his sleep to even the odds of you being able to handle him when he turns mean from drugs and alcohol{sidenote: you can be a tough waitress in a seedy small town diner, but turn into a weak-willed fist-ducker at home? WTF!}.

Third of all, don't feel guilty for getting your rocks off with a hot ass biker-rocker who wants to take care of you. Most of all, don't underestimate that misery loves company, so she can cling to you fatally.

The hero Tucker was just too accepting. That he was even remotely tolerant of Cass staying in her dire situation(at the mercy of an a$$hole) made the love story less engrossing.

The ending of this mess culminated in a series of events that ranged from cliché to over-dramatic (thus, anticlimactic)

Yes, after 75%, I quickly skimmed and got the gist of how the author handled plot resolution. I was not impressed, which is unfortunate, as the premise of this story and the title suggests that it could have been more. I really wanted it to be MORE.
